I’ve been sitting on this post for a while, going back and forth about when and how to share it. Truthfully, talking about raising my prices made me nervous. As a small business owner, I’ve always tried to stay accessible — to be someone families, couples, and clients of all kinds could trust and afford. The thought of someone saying, “You’re out of our budget now,” made me hesitate more than once.

But over the past few months, I realized something important: it was time.

Growth, Change, and the Heart Behind the Work

When I first started R Photo Co., I was just excited to be out there with my camera — capturing memories, learning on the go, and building a business from the ground up. But as the years have gone by, I’ve poured more and more into this work.

I’ve upgraded my equipment — multiple times — so I can capture every little detail in the best light possible. I’ve continued serving both Roanoke and Lynchburg even after moving, because my clients in both areas mean so much to me. I’ve absorbed the ever-rising costs of travel, gas, and gear maintenance, all while keeping my focus on giving every single person who steps in front of my lens the very best experience I can offer.

And behind the scenes? There are countless hours spent learning, practicing, refining, and editing. Photography doesn’t stop when the camera turns off — that’s where the second half of the work really begins. Each image is carefully retouched, color-balanced, and brought to life so that when you open your gallery, it feels like you’re right back in that moment.

Over time, my work has grown — and so has the heart I pour into it.

Understanding Value

Raising prices wasn’t just about dollars and cents. It was about recognizing the value of what I do — not only the final images you receive but the time, care, creativity, and emotion behind them. I’ve learned that growth deserves to be honored, and valuing my craft means continuing to deliver the quality and consistency that my clients deserve.

So yes, my pricing looks a little different now — but my mission hasn’t changed. I’m still here to serve you with the same joy, dedication, and authenticity that built R Photo Co. from the beginning.

From My Heart to Yours

To every client who has trusted me with your milestones — from engagements to first birthdays, family portraits to just-because sessions — thank you. Your support, your kind words, and your loyalty mean the world to me. Every photo I take, every story I capture, is because of the community that continues to cheer me on.

This journey has been one of growth, gratitude, and grace — and I’m so excited for what’s next. ❤️
